Man, you folks are really on the ball today!! I started to post this, but...

And Randy makes what I stated earlier (the ADULT service star as opposed to
the YOUTH service star..) clearer:

But you can still find one or two that were "shipped" by National to "get them
out of the warehouse" and buried in there with the rest of the year pins. And
like all BSA insignia, if worn correctly and properly, is official.

I tend to side with Jim Sheckles on this, but *officially* that's what the BSA
says. However, am *I* going to cheat a Scout out of a year pin for eleven
months'
service before he graduates and becomes a Scout? *moving head back and
forth, from
left to right and back again*
