Gee Ray, if I had EVERY publication issued by the BSA over just the last 20
years, I would have to build a separate ROOM (or use
the bedroom) to place them in. I wouldn't have a place to have
folks come in and sit down in. I'm in the process of shoring up
what I've tossed out (which does include a LOT of Boys Life reprints,
especially some older ones from the 50s and 60s!)
with some more current materials, since a lot of folks are asking
for them.

If you ever come up this way, I would love to show you around my
office/resource room, but I would caution you to walk carefully,
as I still have lots of stuff in boxes, on stacks on the floor
and in overflowing bookcases.

My "role" here is NOT to always "come out with the correct, best,
most complete answer" always....my role is rather to try to come
up with the best answer, BASED ON WHAT I HAVE HERE and what I can
find out, to answer questions and thoughts here. Hopefully, I will
encourage conversation and discussion about the topic. BY NO STRETCH OF THE
IMAGINATION do I have every publication, every issue or every piece of paper
which flows from National to a local Council (man, though, I *try hard*!!) I
trust and rely on other Scouters here (and in other ways) to help me find
the "operative answer" for a given question.

In Pedro's case, I have an older issue of BL (from March 1972)
with the same answer in it; however, I couldn't find it until
yesterday afternoon...and that's okay. By thanking the person
that posted the answer (and by keeping the answer in my "reference-Scouts-L"
file here, and by adding a line on my GeoFile
with Pedro and the file location where I can find the answer faster now!),
I've learned something new.

I do almost every day that I log on to get my mail.

to know the history of this gentle beast. But, don't >hold your breath waiting.

If you decide to do so, Ray, please send a copy to Jon so that
he can place it in our archives...that question is going to come
up again, and it's great reading for some of us that might want
to read it!
