If you tried to (and I've done this) to get "Advisor", "President"
"Vice President", etc. patches done for a small amount commerically, you
will spend about $6.25 per patch for a small
amount (10 or 20). In my own opinion, I would skip the BSA
patches and instead use what a lot of Law Enforcement Posts use:
military rank instead. It's cheaper. The BSA patches really only
look good with the tan uniforms, and I've never did like those
RED patches. One post had the red patches "remade" so it looks
like the tan Boy Scout patches, except instead of the universal
symbol, it has the Big E in the center, and the lettering is red.
I don't know how much they paid for them, but it sure sounded
great!
The difference is you're dealing with the BSA's Supply Division.

You're sure it's not available in long sleeves? I would call
the Supply Division's Exploring Buyer at National and ask. I
think that like the older light blue "Air Explorer" uniforms
that they still have in storage someplace, and the dark blue
Sea Exploring jackets someplace, they probably do have the longer
sleeved shirts.
Of course, they're NOT going to be $28.50.

The other Law Enforcement shirts are perhaps made in the thousands
too.....
Again, the difference is the BSA logo on the shirts, which makes
them "worth more". I can't say much except that this is another
example why a lot of Exploring leaders develop their own insignia
and devices whether than to use the generic Exploring stuff...
it's just more expensive. Now, the difference in small change
may NOT be a big deal, but when you are talking tentage or other
items which the BSA sells, you can see how the BSA's Executive
Fund and other directions the "profits" from the Supply Division
purchases go toward gets full.
