Ron,
Last Summer at Philmont Training Center, the indication was that Crime
Prevention, Archeology, and climbing merit badges will be added sometime
before the printing of the 1997 Requirements book. (usually on the selves
in Sep/Oct of the year of print.)
At that time those were the merit badges that National fully intended to
impliment, they did not rule out the possibily of other new badges being
developed before 97. As release time for the merit badges draws closer,
someone may be able to get more current information on these merit badges.
You can be they will be announced in Boy's Life and Scouting when
implimented.
