Re: "How cold is it?"

James A Lindberg (jal@CRAY.COM)
Thu, 8 Feb 1996 11:47:40 -0600

Just an aside on the Wisconsinite/cold thing:

It was only -20 at this years "Eau Claire Boy Scout Klondike"

20 degrees is not cold enough for Packer fans to put on their t-shirts

The Birkiebinder (a cross-country ski race) starts in Cable and ends in
Hayward, not Rhinelander.

Last week we had -40 temps with -70 windchills, we talked about how brisk it
was starting to feel. This week we have temps in the 30s, I almost didn't
wear a coat to work this morning and drove with my window down and heater off.
People are complaining about it being too warm. Our troop is supposed to go
snow tubing on Saturday and they're talking about highs in the 50s and a
chance for thunderstorms! Just a terrible winter for extremes. Snow is
starting to melt way to fast.

Jim
