I wrote a monster post to try and eduate a little bit about the
misconceptions and myths out there in the world of lifeguarding and I
also talk about the purpose of merit badges since that got us started on
this topic.
After I finished, I decided it would be cruel and unusual punishment to
send it to everyone on the list. It is long. IF you would like a copy
please E-mail me a request (put lifesaving in the header or some such) and
I will send you a copy. Please send your request direct to me, not the
list.

If you like dry humor, you may want a copy just for laughs.

The requirements for Eagle are mostly trivial, any scout is capable. Doing
them is what is significant, because most people never finish what they start.
