Bob,
The Native Americans that I know would not be offended if the ceremony
was in good taste and respectful of their culture. In fact my Native
friends in every instance have gone out of their way to help me
understand their culture and instruct me in their ways. I would ask, was
this person that was upset Native American? If not, what gave them the
right to determine what is offensive to Native Americans?
You do not have to be Native American to follow the Red path. I would
encourage all that would don regalia to study the Native American ways,
pick a tribe, research them and their beliefs. Respect them since our
fore fathers did not.

and absorbing love for nature; a respect for life; enriching faith in a
Supreme Power; and principles of truth, honesty, generosity, equity and
brotherhood as a guide to mundane relations." Luther Standing Bear
