Another request for advice from a new SM

Hello, all...

I am back (like a bad penny) with another request for advice. As some
background, I am a new Scoutmaster for a dormant troop that is restarting.
Since last week, I have met with the COR at the American Legion Post.
The facilities there are great...a large meeting room (unfortunately
adjacent to the bar, but there are doors we can close off); an outdoor
pavilion; 14 acres the troop can use; lots of people who want to help
with commitee work; and funding if we need it ("Just ask" they said).

As an example of their eagerness to help: I asked for a place to store
the troop's equipment, currently in my basement. They have several
storage sheds, all full. They are putting up two more, and we can have
one. This is only three days after my request.

The troop had six boys when it folded. One has joined another troop,
another is no longer interested, one is wavering, and the other three
are coming back. I have one Star who is a Service Project, SM Conference,
and BOR from Life; another Star with more to go; and a Scout who needs
SM Conference and BOR for Tenderfoot. I met the boys and their parents
last night, and the first Troop meeting is February 12.

Now for the advice part...The COR has asked me to come to a Post meeting
with the CC on February 6. They want a briefing on "Scout stuff".
Specifically, there are questions about liability and insurance; what
committee roles there are; and responsibilities of the troop treasurer.

I plan introduce the CC and myself, thank them for sponsoring the troop,
explain the goals and methods of scouting, show the "committee" section
of the BS Fast Start tape, and try to recruit committee members and SAs.
If anyone volunteers (I have high hopes), I will try to get them enrolled
in the Basic Training course starting on February 28.

Is there anything else I should talk about? Are there other materials I
should give them? Can anyone tell me about the insurance/liability part?
How should the Treasurer do his job? What cross-checks do we need? What
are the important questions they (and I) don't know enough to ask yet?

Again, I apologize for the length. I got a tremendous amount of help last
time, and I thank you all in advance.
