This is a delicate issue, as there is a fine line between honoring a
tradition and mocking that tradition and different people have
different interpretations of that line.

The primary place of interaction between the BSA and the Native
Americans is the Order of the Arrow. From what I understand, the OA
has gone to great lengths to work with Native American groups to
ensure that there is nothing offensive in ceremonies and such.

Perhaps you should check with the ceremonies people from the local OA
chapter as to what guidelines they use to ensure that they aren't
being offensive.
