Hello Everyone;
As I am a New Subscriber to SCOUTS-L I think an introduction is
due. I am a Scout Leader with a Troop in Nepean, Ontario, Canada.
The Troop I.D. is the 29th Nepean, and is in the first year of operation
with the usual growing pains; but there is potential there. On a personal
note, I started as a Beaver leader, then moved on to Cubs, then after
6 years in Cubs, 6 years ago I moved on to Scouts, (which I enjoy the most)
due partly to the outdoors/camping aspect and passing on to the youth
an aspect of life that they are not getting in `schools' or watching
the idiot box &/or playing `nintendo'(tm) type games.I am interested in
hearing about other Troop programs/ideas and hearing from Troops in the
U.S. and England. We are interested in Camping on the Add.Trail/Mountains
or in Penn. State. And I would like to get info on suitable areas, etc.
Snail Mail can be easily passed as well. But this `computerization'is just
great, what else would we doing if we we not looking for the `any' key.
Any way that's my $0.02 worth for now.
It's nice to meet "Ya'll", & maybe we can
trade information some time soon.
Oh, if anyone wants `Dutch Oven Recipes' I have a file that can be
passed easily.
Yours In Scouting;
Tony Herbert
