Hank: The thing to remember about permission slips is that they will not
prevent you from being sued nor do they relieve you of responsibility.
Permission slips are used to CYA. Heaven forbid that something did go
wrong and you were sued, the permission slip is part a paper trail that
helps show that you were not negligent. The more detail the information
on the permission slip, the more in your favor. Dump the permission slips
as soon as you feel that you won't be needing them anymore. Example: If
you encountered no problems during the activity and know oyur parents
well and know that they are reasonable people, then dump them as soon as
the event is over. If however you have a family in your unit that seems
to enjoy creating problems then keep the slips longer.
Hope this helps.
