"Regular" vs "Newbie"

Paul,
My apologies, if my tone was a bit brusque in its terseness. I did not
mean to personally assail your good character, but I would judge that I
should have spent some more time and care in my choice of words.
Sometimes I slip into complacency in trying to respond to several issues
while answering many more e-mails privately and reading as many as 100
more each day. I should have noted that you raised a good issue that
might be troublesome to others and should have framed the response more
generally. Please do not see this as an assault on a "newbie." We are
all here to share, to learn, and grow in service to the youth we serve.
None of us are perfect and from time to time mistakes are made, as I have
demonstrated.
Thanks for speaking up. I'm glad you raised your concern instead of
deciding to leave and hope that you will again feel comfortable in
joining in on the discussions here. And as we continue to explore ways
to use information technologies to benefit Scouting, the knowledge you
have from software development should be helpful.
