I thought that I would add some more to Hugh Sullivan's comments on what
constitutes a
project write-up. Briefly, according to communication with John Dalrymple at BS
advancement, the
completed Workbook, as supplied by BSA constitutes an acceptable presentation.
According to Mr.
Dalrymple, a page or two can be added in the methods section, but a separate wri
te-up is not required.
Although pictures tell an interesting story, they certainly are not required acc
ording to BSA. I can
furnish the text of all communications to concerned parties.
My son just received his Eagle and I am quite familiar with the process.
He did submit an
extensive write-up along with the workbook, even though the extensive write-up w
as not required from
BSA's viewpoint. I did not fight the requirement for a couple of reasons
1. You can't fight city hall. Who cares to fight when district types req
uire such.
2. He probably learned quite a bit from the initial RFP to the final wri
te-up. He learned how
to prepare a technical publication and format it.
