A Scouters Memorial - Darcy Goldtrap

Jess Olonoff (jolonoff@GATE.NET)
Tue, 9 Jan 1996 08:20:29 -0500

To All,

9 January 1996

S.Fl.Council's Lighthouse District began its first Roundtable of the year
on a somber note. The first announcement of the evening was of the death
of Darcy Goldtrap our current Training Chairman. Like many others the
title does not begin to tell the story of Darcy's involvement in Scouting
over the years so over the next few weeks I will be contacting her
friends and colleagues to add their own remembrances of Darcy's
contributions to be added to "The Scouters Memorial"

I have known Darcy for only a couple of years through Training sessions
and Roundtable. She was a "tough cookie" as they used to say; a stickler
for the rules if they existed, but she worked as hard or harder than anyone
around and knew an excuse when she heard one. But, she was also pretty
good about sharing a smile and when she did you knew she meant it. And
when she sang the "Woodbadge Song" you could see the joy in her eyes.

Darcy will be dearly missed by all of us.

Darcy had been hospitalized for a bout with pneumonia over the holidays.
She was at home recuperating and all believed she was doing well.

Yours in Scouting, Jess
