This posting discussed the "research" that has shown that boys are more
likely to remain in Scouting if they become First Class.

I look at this in a way similar to that recycling logo that shows the arrows
making a circle to indicate reuse over and over again.

Scouts who are likely to make First Class indicate usually that the troop is
providing a strong program. A strong program leads to more First Class boys.
In turn, more First Class boys leads to a stronger program.

Alas, I wax philosophical.
