"On my honor, I will do my best...."

I was asked by one of our Scouts to write a short article (paragraph or two)
for our Troop Newletter.
The subject I have chosen is "On my honor, I will do my best..." What does
"my best" mean.
I will write the first article, but would like to follow up with what it
means to some of you. If you deside to respond, please include your name,
your position, troop, post, or crew (if I left you out, respond anyway),
city and state, how long in Scouting, are you an Eagle and/or OA, etc. (just
in case I left somthing out).
I'm not sure if this is something others would like to see, but it may be
interesting.
Thanks,
YiS

"On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and country."
I do not see any reference to the brotherhood of man(kind) or any other
PC or new age dogma.
