In the Department of the Army, where I work as a civilian, as well as
attend Reserve Drills (assemblies), I was considered essential (by some other
funding standard only understood by the Hill People and the 5-sided
residents). What this means (as best as I can determine) is that while I
worked last week and will get paid, others in my Reserve Center who were sent
home for a 4-day "vacation" (as being non-essential) will ALSO get paid for
being sent home. Something seems to (silly me) be unfair here, but that IS
the Federal Government!! Hurt one group while we give away the store to
another. Sorry for the soap-box drama!!
