And for reasons yet unexplained...USDA was also exempt from the
furlough...something to do with them not being effected by the budget?
Although I work 'for' Cornell, my salary is funded by USDA, and a few
of my co-workers actually get USDA checks. After being told to go home
Tuesday, if you didn't receive Cornell paychecks (they were going to back
those of us who draw Cornell checks off of USDA funds), Wednesday they
were told they could come back to work because USDA was not shutting down.
The wonders of the gov't!
