Backpack Frames

Seeing the discussion on duffle bags, backpacks, etc. and the
transporting of same...
Something I remember seeing years ago in a Backpacking magazine said that
when you are transporting a backpack in a car, it should not be palced in
your car resting on the frame. The miles of the heavy weight in the pack
bouncing up and down on the frame of the pack will weaken and eventually
warp the frame. The pack should be placed in a car frame up so that the
load is not resting on the frame.
