Scott,
We have a policy in our Troop that the adult must be registered with the
council to camp with the Troop. This does two things, gets them covered
by insurance and creates a pool of committee members. Additionally we do
not allow a parent to help with a patrol their son is in. Committee
members understand that theirs is a support role and unless the PLC or
Scoutmaster asks for help with program elements they should remain in a
support role.
