Hello Scouters, wherever in the world you may be...

I've just subscribed onto Scouts-l, so I thought I might as well write
a little bit about myself to let everybody know that I'm here. My name
is David Wilson and I'm a research student at the Queen's University of
Belfast, studying control engineering. I've been a Scout for 17 years,
and my current involvement is as the leader of 1st Saintfield Scout
Troop in County Down, Northern Ireland; in addition, I am also the
Venture Scouting Advisor for the Ballynahinch and Downpatrick District.
When not Scouting (which isn't often!), my interests include running,
orienteering, mountaineering, and wargaming. I'm currently tied up a
bit thinking about where to take the Troop for next year's summer camp;
some people in the District are talking about going to Canada, whilst
a Scottish friend of mine has suggested teaming our groups up and going
to the Finnish National Jamboree. If anyone out there has any other
great ideas, I'd love to hear them... I'd be particularly keen to hear
about any more international camps going- after attending the World
Jamboree as service staff, I'm quite fired up for a bit more
international Scouting!

Well, I suppose I might as well leave it at that- I wouldn't want to clog
up anyone's mailbox...

All the best,

David Wilson
