MBs at Camp

Hi all,
In regards to merit badges at camp ....
I would agree that many times the requirements are strained
a bit, but in most cases the Scouts are in classes for 5 days
and they DO work very hard.

I also agree that if the Scout is prepared, they
can get MANY merit badges at camp. My eldest son one
year completed the requirements for 8 (!!) because he
had done many requirements at home. I believe the 8
were:

sports or athletics (can't remember which, but all done at home)
lifesaving
canoeing
basketry (he did this one in an hour)
leatherwork (this one took about a day)
pioneering
camping (almost all of the requirements done before camp)
and one other I can't remember.

None of these were "give-a-ways", he was just prepared (for once).
