Re: Merit badge welfare

Due to a problem with leadership, we were unable to get enough leaders for
summer camp. However, as an alternative, we put together a "Badge-o-ree".

We were able to recruit merit badge counselors for Firemanship, Wood carving,
Space Exploration, Pioneering, and leatherwork. We scheduled three classes
prior to the "Badge-o-ree", in which we wnbet over all te requirements, and
had the scouts bring in all the written work, and do the necessary visits,
etc (Everything that we could not do on the trip.) Our goal was to make it
possible for the scouts to earn all five merit badges while if they attended
the Badge-o-ree.

The leaders did all the cooking and cleaning (we had tacos delivered
one night and pizza delivered the second night) The kids LOVED it. It was a
fun trip, and they were able to earn (Actually EARN) five merit badges.

The kids really enjoyed themselves, even if it did drizzle most of the
weekend.

P.S.

All the kids that completed the paperwork prior to the Badge-o-re,
earn all five of the merit badges.
