Re: Merit badge welfare

At our summer camp, the list of merit badges to be offered and the
pre-requisites are published and distributed far in advance of summer camp.

If you show up for a mb class the first day for, say Personal Fitness, and
don't have the 4 week exercise program done in advance, you are asked to try
for a different merit badge. Now, they DO squeeze requirements sometimes,
but the books are followed religiously -- no additions & no deletions, as it
should be.

Because of the timing, 3 is the most anyone can try for, although someone
already pretty much done with one could maybe squeeze in 4. Often the
classes are taught by staff youth, but the cards are signed by an adult
registered counselor.
