Re: Merit badge welfare

Our troop has had the same problems at summer camp and even council merit
badge fairs. The way we handle this is for the advancement committee to
review the signed merit badge cards and make sure that the badge can be
earned at camp or at the MB fair. There are several MBs that we will not
allow Scouts to take at camp since it is impossible to complete or work on
adequately. If a Scout has not completed the requirements he is not awarded
the MB. This has obviously created some problems but the lesson learned is
an important one.
