Boys and Girls...

In my opinion:

There are two basic classes of people who want BSA to be coed: (1) those
who have good intentions and (2) those who don't have good intentions. I
find it impossible, on this forum, to distinguish between the two. I also
find it impossible to ascertain the motives of those in other countries
who find that coed works - no one would admit it works for the WRONG
reasons.

For a number of years I have asked Scouts, in varying situations, what
they thought about the coed issue. GENERALLY, those less than 15 years of
age say "no way" while those older than 15 are more than mildly
interested. I find the same general philosophies if the activity is Pop
Warner football, Little League or Junior Achievement. The older youth can
also be divided into the two aforementioned categories; the younger
ones seem to have no intentions. 8-)

A TV news program recently reported that 48% of the youth in this country
have sex by the 10th grade. If we agree to open BSA to girls, we should
be able to increase this percentage to at least 60% in a very short time.

Should you disagree with my statements, rereading the first 3 words of this
post may assist you in preparing your response which, I trust, will not
include the imbecillic phrase "come to the 90s".
