I'm looking for new (better ) ideas for backpacks for scouts. Rather than
restate what we already do I solicit your ideas on;
a. Backpacks that will remain adequate for a boys scouting career. One that
will "grow" with him.
b. A backpack that will be adequate for three and four day backpacking trips
and be adequate for Philmont.
c. Your recommendations as to how many cubic inches it should have.
d. Type of pack: internal vs external, plastic vs aluminum, welded vs rivits.
e. Weight considerations.
You get the idea. On top of this, what has been your experience as to how
much your scouts spend on packs. I'm looking for reasonable solutions. I'm
aware of what the catalogs and camping stores have but many times the cost is
not reasonable for a scout. I'm looking for your down to earth, common sense,
low cost ideas.
