Administrative

Looks like it is time for some administrative notes as school
is keeping many of us busy and Scouts-L very active ....

Overkill
--------
I think the "Girls in BSA" issue has been really beaten into
the ground. Time to let it drop ... we seem to be rehashing many
of the same things and a bunch of "I aggrees". The best ways to
drop issues is DONT POST. Pretty simple :)

Welcome File
------------
As I have stressed time and time again, the SCOUTS-L WELCOME file
is an important document in how to use this list. Included in it
are rules for postings, how to get files, how to subscribe/unsubscribe
etc. Please review it occasionally as a reminder that we all need
from time to time.

Monitoring
----------
The latest release of listserv offers a new tool for listowners and
that is the ability to review postings by user before they hit the
list. I have been making use of this feature for those who abuse
the posting rules as outlined in the WELCOME file. Please do NOT
ask me about this option because I dont have time to reply. The
larger this list grows, the more of such steps become necessary.
If the list ever gets to the point of requiring monitoring of all
postings, it will have go away ... I dont think any of us want that.

Private Email
-------------
Whenever possible, try to reply privately to post and not to
the list. Many questions that are asked can be responded to
privately ... and then the origional poster can post a summary
for everyone.

Yours in Scouting,
Jon Eidson, Listowner Scouts-L
