More likely is that most groups would become coed because the chartered organiza
tion wishes it so. Most of these organizations are churches or school based orga
nizations and would probably opt to include their coed membership.
Doesn't the YMCA sponsor separate sex programs - Indian Guides & Princesses? Why
must all programs be coed anyway? Perhaps GSUSA should be listening to their co
nstituency and changing their program - sounds like there are a number of people
with the time and energy to help make changes. Who runs that show and why aren'
t they listening? They certainly should be as interested in their numbers as the
BSA is in its enrollment. The arguments presented so far seem to suggest abando
ning the GSUSA program for its faults in favor of the BSA program because the GS
USA program cannot be fixed. This doesn't make sense. What is the underlying rea
son for proposing coed BSA?
