They can listen to the loons, or the wind in the trees, or the rain on the
tent, or even talk to their tentmate. Who knows, they might even think about
something important to them. A little introspection is good for the soul.
I'm trying to give them an experience as different from life at home as I
can.
At our Council camps, no electronics are allowed past the parking lot (there
is undeniable value in electronics in keeping youth occupied during a 4 to 6
hour ride from Chicago to the council camps).
