The patch in question is from a different variety of scouts...

That is the patch from one of the Armored Cavalry Regiments of the U.S. Army
the Armored Reconaissance Specialists therein are comonly known as Cavalry
Scouts. I was in the First armored Cavalry Regiment and I am a Scouter
