Your information may have been accepted 30 years ago, but is not the
current usage for the term Wiccan.
Wicca is a Goddess based neonature religion that has evolved out of the
research done by contemporary scholars which shows that the use of the
word Wicca as the origin of the word wicked is indeed true, but was part
of the Medieval Church's attempt to subvert the then popular culture in
favor of it's own. Images used by ancient Wiccans included a horned god
which is also the origin of the character Christians now refer to as the
devil. Wiccans do NOT worship the Christian Devil and do not recognize
the existance of Satan. This would be like saying that a Christian roots
against Vishnu in competition with Jesus, go God. Christians don't root
against Vishnu because they do not believe in Vishnu. Vishnu is not part
of the Christian religion, just as Satan is not part of the Wiccan religion.
Wiccans are NOT excluded by BSA's policies, nor should they be.
