Robert, I don't understand your concern; I think we're concerned with child abus
e not spiritual training. In any event, I think what we are seeing is other yout
h organizations concern for child abuse liability. The BSA was one of the first
to develop a program (with the aim helping youth). It would be nice if there wer
e some way for all the current and future organizations (with YPP)to agree to us
e one another's programs rather than requiring everyone connected to a particula
r organization to trained in its program. While additional training may not hurt
, the time might be better spent on annual renewal training. OTOH, it is only an
hour or two in the year and someone else in the extra session may benefit from
discussion of your experience.
