Bell Info Request, change of address

Ted Burton (tedburtn@CRIS.COM)
Sun, 20 Aug 1995 08:34:53 -0600

Since I posted my inquiry whether there were other 'burn-ees' on the 'net
besides the gentleman in Bermuda, I have received very few responses. Now
that my address had changed, I am again expressing interest in collecting
solid information on people's problems with this person.

Over the course of the years, I have read various messages on the 'Net and
commentary in memorabilia journals about the individual(s) whose names and
'references' appear below my signature block. Recently a Scouter from
Bermuda complained of an inability to contact such person after having sent
badges to him. As a Scouter and a collector, who is also involved in law
enforcement, I am particularly interested in this matter. I wish to learn
more about the individual(s) and activities involved, and to gather
information which might support or refute charges. Please understand, I am
not vouching for the truth of the accusations, nor am I suggesting the
contrary.

I would be interested in any information you folks may have on transactions
with this person..

All of what follows is a quotation or paraphrase from someone else, and is
what excites my interest.

>Clyde Bell arrested in Fla. but from Tenn.? Wallace G. Loper, Jr. working
>for Bell? Knox County Tennessee, beware of Knoxville
>not-ASTA/NSCS/APTA's. Clyde Bell, Wally Loper, James Lesly, Cly Bascone,
>ketch.sailnet.com, cjbell, jlesly, JasonBock@aol.com.<

>BEWARE JAMES LESLY/CLYDE BELL/WALLY LOPER. now recently has decided to
rip you off via the internet, specifically Scouts-L. Beware James Lesly
from Knoxville Tn address is as follows: Mastercraft 126 W
Oldham Ave Knoxville Tn 37917-5515. Internet address
jlesly@keltch.sailnet.com. I believe he has desubscibed from Scouts-L (at
least I can't find him on the list under that alias). Likewise for his
ketch.sailnet.com addresses which he held under cjbell and jlesly. The Bell
snail mail he used for Keith was the same as the Lesly snailmail he used
for me. I am also in touch with a Vancouver Scouter who was ripped off as
well in the past couple of months. He is also working a postcard collectors
listserver. As I advise everyone now. DOn't send anything into knoxville
unless you've received the knoxville resident's package first. I believe he
may be on Scouts-L still under other names and servers (sailnet is out of
the Great Lakes so out of area access does not seem to be a problem for
him). He particularly seems to favor the University of Tennessee Knoxville
servers. Any background information you can provide me would be
appreciated.<
