My troop took 16 to Sea Base this year over spring break and we had a
ball. We did the Keys Adventure, partly because we had never been to
Sea Base before and partly because Sea Base doesn't offer all the
programs outside the summer season. As I said, we had a great time.
It is hard to call the Keys Adventure camping however, since we stayed
in their dorm with bunks and showers and never had to cook any meals.
We sailed small sail boats, canoed in the ocean to an island, went fishing,
went to the Everglades National Park, did lots of snorkling and many
interesting night activities. We actually snorkled every day except for
when we went sailing and went to the Everglades.
BTW, I think spring break is a perfect time to go. It wasn't too hot and
the wind was blowing some times. I hear it can be hot an still in the
summer time.
One thing that I didn't like was that Sea Base's literature said we would
spend a night fishing/sleeping on their 45 cat. They took that out of
the Keys Adventure but didn't update the lit to match.
More details, travel etc, if you'd like.
