For those of you new to the term "National Camping School" it refers to
BSA's training for Day and Residential Camp Directors, Program Directors,
Field Sports Directors, Aquatic Directors, Food Service Managers,
Ecology Directors, Scoutcraft Directors, etc.
This training is offered on a regional level to those Scouters who are
going to work in Camps in a position where NCS certification is
required. To attend a course you must have your Scout Executive's
approval (in some Councils this is delegated to DEs). To find out more
about course offerings in your region you should discuss it with your
Council's professional staff, given that they have to approve of your
attendance anyway. If my recollection is right, you must be 18 to attend
and for some of the courses you must be 21; e.g. Camp Director, Program
Director, Aquatics Director, Field Sports Director.
