Mark,
Thanks for sharing your Scout camp experience. I'm especially glad you
mentioned using the buddy system in camp and not just at the waterfront.
Its a great idea, especially for younger, new Scouts and can go a long way
towards preventing panic, when something goes wrong. As your group grows
it can also be a natural way to have older Scouts lead newer ones to
activities, etc., though there will be times when you will find an older
Scout that has to go it alone on a thing or two. Glad you had an
enjoyable experience and most of all that your Scouts had a chance to grow!
