I checked my copy of the BSA Insignia Guide, 1991, Page 6 Under Official
Neckerchiefs
It says that Boy Scout neckerchiefs are optional. The troop decides by
vote and all members must abide by the decision.
Local Councils may prescribe the specific offical neckerchief on a Council
or District basis or allow troops to choose their own official ones. All
members of a troop wear the same color.
Not that this will change the way we do things - but for those who asked . . . .
Don't worry I won't be losing any sleep over this.
