Patch trades

At the last Australian Jamboree, I will have to commend the security people, I
am a trader of patches (or in Australia a badge collector), and did some pretty
hefty business, about 400 total for the ten days. At the last Jamboree in
Ballarat we had several 'dodgy types' who did rip off the kids, this time they
were on top of it, as soon as a guy set himself up, a security guy would show
up and watch the
proceedings, I thought this was terrific, I know that several of the Malaysian
contingent were warned, and between 2 and 5 people (stories vary) were actually
ejected from the site for breaching the swapping ethics. The troop I was
friendly with was put in a spot. One of the girls in the patrol had been given
some badges by her Grandfather (who has over 40 years service), my advice was
sought as to what was rare and what was not, the problem being out of 70 badges
total, many were on the rare list (there were 5 varieties I didn't have and
wanted myself!!).
In Ballarat I know of one American person who was ejected from the campsite
when I reported him to security for trying to get kids to trade him 4 of their
badges for 1 CSP!!
