Meet whenever it's convenient for you and your cubs on a consistent basis.
Why not right after the soccer or other sport games so other cubs can cheer
on the cubs who are playing, it could be a great recruiting technique.
As to combining wolves and bears in a single den, If there is really no
alternative do it. But if there are over eight kids involved it would really
be a hardship for one leader. Remember there still needs to be two deep
leadership and with over eight kids you would need more adults just to keep
things sane and you might as well divide the group into wolf and bear dens.
We started this past year with no wolf and bear leaders. At the first pack
meeting the theme was neighborhood so I as cubmaster and several Webelos
parents took the cubs for a walk around the neighborhood leaving the parents
in the room with the committee chair. By the time we returned we had leaders
and assistant leaders in every den. Sometimes people just need the facts of
life explained to them.
