Ralph,
Holy smokes! Your son has one very valuable patch. The one with the
gold border and both white and gold flds was made as a prototype for the
Council's 50th anniversary in 1987. Later a limited edition and a general
edition were made. Not very many of these around. I'd have to say it
is very valuable - hang on to it. The other one sounds like the stock issue
for our Council at some point. Send me more details about it by private
e-mail and I'll try to give you better info. Info that will help is direction
of stiching in background, buildings, etc. and exact wording. It too may
be old, valuable and worth keeping.
A word on patch trading - in BSA trading between adults and youth members
is not allowed.
