Dear Sue:
-
This is the situation very frequently now in California. Some of us,
speculating (purely speculation), believe it has something to do with a
generation coming of age which has an equal dislike for Scouts as it
does for many accepted American institutions, such as the military.
-
Our only successes have been to go to friendly ears who are membes of
the Board of Education (elected).
-
If this were not enough, we're not being allowed to use school
buildings for Pack or Troop meetings -- because of the financial crunch
in some school districts ("we can't afford to pay for a janitor", being
the most frequent excuse given).
-
Good luck.
