Re: Announcements X 3

I was at camp last week -- more about that later -- and people dread hearing
the "A word" spoken because the announcements song has been known to go on
for more than 10 minutes on occassion.

Staff adds or deletes material on whim. This is also all the more confusing
since this is our first summer since the merger and both former camps had
slightly different songs.

Generally the song includes the following, but not necessarily in this order:
(I'll spare you the complete words since most parts have already been posted)

Anouncements, anouncements, anouncements!
A terrible way to die....
...talked to death at summer camp a terrible way to die.

Words of wisdom....

Row, row, row your boat...

The cow went up the hill, the cow went up the hill.
second verse, same as the first, it never gets better it only gets worse.
(repeat ad nauseum)

Beans for breakfast, beans for dinner, good ole beans for tea,
If I were nothing but a bean how happy I would be.
(repeat ad nauseum)
(last line is to the tune of Auld Lang Syne and is sung slowly at least once
and definitely on the last time through)

I lost my cow **MOO**
I lost my cow **MOO**
I have no need for your bull now.
(repeat as desired)

Did you ever see a windbag go this way and that way...

This is the song that never ends.
It goes around and round again.
(of course you repeat this until the Program Director gets ill! *g*)

The song always ends with "Speak Freak!".

In the past the Twelve Days of Christmas have been sung with various sets of
alternate gifts, never getting past the eighth day. The order of the songs
varies. Sometimes songs are used more than once, sometimes they are not
used at all. It usually depends on how badly the staff wants to prolong the
song and who is making the announ... oops!, giving information.

We even had a troop do a skit last week that was nothing but a set up to say
the A word so we could launch into the song.

I have heard this song has converted more than one Scoutmaster to the
pleasures of patrol cooking! *g* It sounds like we have the longest
Song on this list...
