When I read his message, I was embarrassed
for my posting, and I can't completely hide
behind the fact that I asked for the
addresses at someone else's request: it was
a question I could easily have asked on my
own behalf. I realized how easy it is for
me to visit gift shops instead of
experiencing the true values of the trip.

James you shouldn't be embarassed... A Scout is Helpful! You were asked for
help on finding out some information and you got your answers... I'm sure the
recipient of the information was very appreciative. Having momentos of places
one has visited is nothing to be embarrassed about... When you go on a
vacation, do you not pick up little momentos to remember a specific place.
Scouting isn't any different... I've asked several times for addresses or
what's the hot-ticket items to collect in a specific country and I am
happy to say I'm very glad for the responses... I have several items from
different countries/states... Scouting friends are always great to collect,
but lets not exclude the memorbilia either...
Yis,
Pat
