In my posting just a few minutes ago concerning how we run the Belt Loop
program in our pack, I made mistake in describing our requirements for the
parent's pin.
I inadvertantly used the word "boys" when I should have used the word "child"
(Mea Culpa..[I am beating my chest with a frond]). We give just as much
credit to the parent supporting a GIRLS program as a BOYS program. After
all, we are all here for the KIDS.
Also, I forgot to mention one aspect that encourages participation in the
academics program. Whenever a boy earns an academic belt loop, we have made
arrangements with our local schools to include noting this award in the
School-To-Home newsletter that is sent out by our schools every Friday. Not
only does this give the boy proper recognition, but also exposes our Pack to
the local population.
