banana/bandana skit

Several of you asked about the banana/bandana skit I alluded to in a
recent post. It's a very funny skit centered around two adults giving
a demonstration of a very useful piece of camping equipment--the
bandana. Unfortunately, one of the adults misunderstands and thinks
the other said "banana."
Thus, when the straight man starts doing things with the
bandana--i.e., wiping his face, polishing his shoes, wiping his
underarms, then folding up the bandana and putting it back in his
pocket, etc.--the guy with the banana does the same things. Some
stage management is required here so the two guys aren't looking at
each other.
Finally, at the end, the straight man says, "and you can even use it
to clean your glasses."
The other one, by this time thoroughly covered with banana goo, says,
with a fiendish gleam in his eye, "Hey, let me clean your glasses for
you!" He does so gleefully, and hands them back smeared with banana
goo.
Straight man: "Hey--what's this banana goo all over my glasses?"
"You said clean 'em with a banana!"
"No, you idiot, I said bandana!" Whereupon the straight man chases
the other guy off the stage.
This goes over really well with the little kids, and gives them an
intro to the fun cubs is supposed to be. This skit is a standard part
of our Join Scouting Nights. Hint--the banana man should wear
something other than a clean, pressed scout uniform. He can change
after the skit.
Hey--it works for me!
