I don't think my message of the 25th (regarding Eurofax, etc.) made it to the
list, so I'll try one more time. If you're seeing this for the second time,
please forgive the intrusion!
To add my 0.05 Swiss Francs worth, one of the most appealing features of this
list, for me, is its international content. If I was content at being an
isolationist, I wouldn't need this list. I'd probably not even go to local
roundtables for fear of learning something new. The international news and
commentary is a valuable feature. This is a very small world, but it is very
diverse in cultural background. If you want to prepare your Scouts for what
life in the real world is like, you had better not ignore what the rest of
the world is doing. My "real" job has taken me to Brazil, Switzerland,
France, Germany, Spain, Israel, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Portugal. I
learned about cultural diversity by unexpected immersion. As the world around
us shrinks even further, its that much more important for all of us to be
informed about that world around us. Don't surpress European news-- its only
5 or 6 hours away!
