If you have some funds available to start with, our Girl Scout council sold
tickets for a prime rib dinner one year and a spaghetti and salad buffet the
next! We got our Yaught club to donate thier kitchen and room for the day.
Local buisnesses donated a lot of our supplies we needed. Each leaeder (or
troop) made some kind of dessert that was donated for the event. We got
leaders and paents to volunteer to work from serving to cooking. With a lot
of suport and donations from the community we only had to spend about $200
dollars and made $1,300. Check your local buisnesses, McDonalds donated cups
and napkins, Walmart donated plates, and local grocery stores gave us all of
our drinks and supplies to make the salads. It was a lot of fun and brought
all of the families in our Service Unit together.
(To thank all of the buisnesses, all the troops got together and presented
them with plaques we purchased with the extra money we made)
