Lisa,
No the view has NOT changed. However, Mother's do have a civilian
life, and many are not even involved in Scouting. That, however, does
not mean that they have not been involved in the support of their son.
Thus, we have FOR CIVILIAN WEAR, many kinds of jewelry for both men
and women. I have on my charm bracelet (which has been built over the
years representing events, etc. in my life) the charm representing
both of my sons' ranks, but I do not wear it with my uniform.
