Chuck asks about female BSA Scouters and "Mother's Pins".
Most Scouters wear two hats - Parent and Scouter. IMHO, a female
Scouter should not wear Mother's Pins _as part of her Scouter
uniform_ any more than a male Scouter should wear symbols of his
sons' Scouting achievements as part of his uniform.
That said, she should display the pins in context, proudly. For
instance, my wife wears her pins to Courts of Honor, but not as part
of a uniform per se. She wears them on red/white/blue ribbons as a
necklace - one ribbon per boy, Cub pins on one side, Boy Scout pins
on the other. She has two necklace ribbons full of pins for two
boys. I have seen other troops award each pin on a separate ribbon
of a different color (harder to wear, in my view, and confusing).
